This nondegree course credit certificate program equips graduates to work in acute, primary, or long-term care settings in parent-child clinical areas such as pediatrics or obstetrics. The traditional Clinical Nurse Specialist roles of expert clinical practice, consultation, clinical leadership, research, and education are shaped toward providing deeper levels of patient care and improved outcomes as the CNS works in several spheres of influence.

Advance your nursing skills

With a focus on theory and clinical experiences, the curriculum prepares candidates to pursue certification through the state of California as well as national certification. Combined with clinical experiences in health care services for diverse cultural/ethnic groups, the poor, the underserved, and the homeless, candidates become equipped to make a difference in the lives of those they serve.
