For registered nurses who hold a bachelor’s degree, APU’s Master of Science in Nursing with School Nurse Services Credential and Family Nurse Practitioner certificate prepares nurses to be effective practitioners of school health and provide primary care for people of all ages in a variety of settings. Students graduate eligible to apply to the State of California for the School Nurse Services Credential, and ready to make a difference through their calling.

Under the guidance of expert faculty-practitioners, students receive theoretical and practical expertise in nursing and education as it applies to basic health services in public schools (K-12). Combined with the FNP, students also become skilled in assessment, diagnosis, treatment, advocacy, and more. With this foundation, graduates are equipped to provide primary care as well as establish and maintain comprehensive school health programs.
