Azusa Pacific University’s Clinical Nurse Specialist program prepares candidates to serve in one of two specialty areas, as an Adult-Gerontology Clinical Nurse Specialist or Pediatric Clinical Nurse Specialist. Each focus provides candidates with the knowledge and skills needed to work in acute, primary, or long-term care settings.
Advance your nursing career
Taught by experienced faculty-practitioners in a supportive Christian community, the CNS curriculum nurtures candidate competency in developing and sustaining evidence-based practice in illness management, advancing the practice of other nurses and nursing personnel, and developing organizational or systems modifications to support and improve nursing practice. Graduates are eligible to apply for certification through the state of California as a Clinical Nurse Specialist and can apply for a national credential through examination by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC).
